Fostering Information Events
If you come along to a Foster with North East fostering information event you can find out more about fostering in a friendly and informal setting. As well as a monthly online events run by the Foster with North East Hub team, the 12 partners who make up Foster with North East run in-person monthly fostering events across the region, so there's always an information event coming up in a location near you.
Our fostering events take place at a variety of times and on different days to allow as many people as possible to meet our support teams. You'll also have the chance to meet existing foster carers and learn about their fostering experiences.
It's not compulsory to attend a fostering information event as part of the application process. But attendees tell us that coming along helped them to better understand how fostering could work for them.
What happens at Foster with North East Fostering Information Events?
Fostering information events hosted by our Foster with North East partners offer a relaxed opportunity to learn more about fostering in your local area.
To give you a fuller picture of what life as a North East foster carer is like, and the support we can offer, foster carers and social workers will be on hand. You can chat and ask questions or just listen and arrange a one-to-one chat at a later date.
There's absolutely no pressure to sign up to start your fostering journey straight away, but the event could be the ideal way to answer some questions which may have been on your mind.
Our online information events will include an informal presentation by our expert hub team who will give you an overview of the fostering application process, the children in care and the ongoing role of a foster carer. There may also be opportunity to hear from a foster carer about their real experiences, and there will always be opportunity for guests to ask any questions they may have.
Some topics discussed during the session may not be suitable for younger children but please speak to our hub team for further information if you would like to bring a child or children to an event.
