What to expect when you want to make an enquiry

If you say you want to go through to the enquiry stage on the telephone or email, the next step is to complete an expression of interest form over the phone. It can take between 30 - 40 minutes to complete. The aim is to get to know you better and better understand your interest in fostering. This will be done by one of the Foster with North East hub team and we'll discuss your circumstances, your household, and your lifestyle. If you have a partner, their circumstances also need to be shared during the chat.

Next, we share this information with your chosen local authority, who will contact you to arrange a home visit. A social worker will come and see you at home. At that stage, you and the local authority will make a decision about proceeding.

If you proceed, you'll commence Stage One, and we'll see you again for training. The Foster with North East team offers face-to-face pre-approval Skills to Foster training at venues across the North East.
