Join us at the Metro Centre for our Foster Care Fortnight Event
To celebrate Foster Care Fortnight, we have teamed up with Smooth Radio and the Metrocentre to host a fun and informal event outside Primark. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet people from our council fostering teams, learn more about your fostering options, the children and young people we support and discover how fostering could work for you.
Plus, you'll have the opportunity to test your skills in our You Rock Challenge with the chance to top the leaderboard and win a prize! You can also cheer us on as we try and complete our own challenge, 70,000 steps for the children in care in the UK.
Come and join in!
- The Rock Hero Challenge - take part and try to top the leaderboard
- Meet people from local council fostering teams
- Chat with foster carers and buddies
- Cheer on the 70,000-step challenge representing children in care
You can be someone's rock
Every child deserves someone they can rely on when they need it most. When you foster with your local council, you can be that steady presence. You can offer care, encouragement and support whether it's for a night, a weekend, a few weeks or longer. Whatever stage of life you're in, fostering might be more possible than you think. You don't need to wait and you don't need to do it alone.
Think you can't foster? Think again!
There are lots of myths and misconceptions about fostering, so if you think you can't foster - think again! You can still be someone's rock even..
- if you already have children or don't
- if you're in your 20s
- if you are working
- if you rent your home
- if you're older - there's no upper age limit
We're here to answer your questions and help you explore different fostering options.
